Biography of Dj Seeb-Style
What I'm going to tell you is not a story, but my history.
I'm born in Saluzzo, the 31/10/1975, my name is Sebastiano Gosmar a.k.a. Dj Seeb-Style and I can say that I've known and practiced the 4 elements of Hip-Hop (B-boying. Writing. Mcing. Djing). Let's begin from B-boying: I discovered in 1984 when I was only 9 years old, through the television; there was a TV program on "RAI 3" channel where often showed exhibition of B-boys: I was attracted from the figures and from the movements that I recorded the steps and watched them for learning; I and my brother trained us under our house on a wonderful smooth marble space! The films that motivated me more were "Beat Street" and "Breakin"; I remember at that time I attended a school of gymnastic and before the aim of the lessons every time we stopped to make some movements. One day my mother carried us to see an exhibition of some French B-boys in the club where my father worked as waiter; I was young but they made me enter in the circle in order to demonstrate what I knew. That one was my first entrance in public! Also in the country festivities I was useful to dance... this was the period of my life that makes me approached truly to the Hip-Hop.
My brother, that was already a Dj, Dj Ludovic Gosmar spurred me to fall in this new adventure, and the day of my 14° birthday make me a present... the LP of the Public Enemy, "Fear Of A Black Planet". In that period I and my neighbor friend Alessandro a.k.a. Happy were Skateboarders; we listened to Beastie Boys, Run Dmc, P.E., the classics! Every Saturdays afternoon was a fix appointment for Yo MTV Rap, to be dawned on the new developments of the moment: the first Single that I bought with my money was "Can't Touch This" of Mc Hammer; from 1993 I begin with Happy to turn the jams of the country....one of the best was in Bologna for Afrika Bambaataa. Also at that time with Happy I was interested about the Writing and we made some pieces. After I tried the emotion to produce, so I bought a sampler, an Ensoniq Eps 16 plus, and I began making beats and writing rhymes; I knew Simone, a Dj from Milan, in a Dmc championship: we formed a group with the name Ordine Del Giorno [Order of the Day], we made a demo and some lives in Milan. In 1995 I knew Dok, Principe, Kaf and Zuli and we formed La Cricca [The Click], famous crew of Turin!
In 1996 I left as Dj-Entertainer for some seasons in Turkey, Italy and abroad, but when I returned La Cricca was melted: therefore I reformed another group, using again the name O.d.G., with 2 flys and 1 B-boy of my zone. In 1997 I participated to the national competition Dj Trip, and I gained the category of Dj-Entertainer, and I knew Dj Ale; he collaborated in the O.d.G. group in concerts and competitions (3° to the Road House Festival, Pinerolo-Turin), a promotional CD and several other things! In 1998 I left to work and live in France (Paris), to discover the French scene that I heard powerful! In the same year I began to write as a free-lance articles for AL, the biggest Italian Hip-Hop magazine, in the page "Made in France", about what happened in this nation (jams, concerts, discography, and interviews). Since I was in Paris my knowledge of the culture Hip-Hop is evolved; I've seen lot of things, I've made several reportage and interviews, I've seen what means promoting because over there Rap is a trade like an other. From 1999, I became member of Cobratempio Studios and 3linez Web-magazine with Dok as a free- lance! In 2001 I featured with the Latin-American group Havana Mambo in composing (lyrics and part of music) of "La Gozadera".
The song was released in the groups CD and in some compilations distributed in Europe:
"Super Estate Latina 2001" from Ricordi Record and "Latino Super Hits" from ZYX music Germany.
After that I've been in America for work, I lived for one years in Orlando, FL was wonderful! I had a chance to traveler a little and discovery the real hip-hop culture. Also that year, i went to Japan for vacation and I saw how the J-Hip-Hop is big, the level is quiet the same as the States, I was impressed and I suggest everybody to discovery the J-Hip-Hop; “they got shit nah mean!!!” Before go back to Italy i featured with the Rapper Shamash from North Carolina in composing (lyrics) of “This is for my B-Boys, Djs and Mcs". In the summer 2002 I was back to Paris again for one year, I performed as the official Dj for the Asian Association Yumedia in various club in Paris: http://www.yumedia.net and I keep up dating my knowledge about world wide Hip-Hop culture. In October 2003 I went back to Italy, and I performed with my new show-case “United Statez Flavor” as a Dj-Selecta in different bar and club. In November 2003 I moved for a new experience in Japan (Osaka) where I began to playing gigs as a Dj and organize Hip-Hop event in different club. Also I did a featuring in a track with Shingo Nishinari Osaka famous Rapper produced by DJ Fuku for "Track Star Record" you can listen it Here
Now i'm resident Dj every saturday at FULL BLOOM (Osaka) and often Guest Dj for special Events & Parties...
I'm also keep promoting myself and i've launched the M.I.C. Entertainment to trying to promote and do some collaboration between Japanese and Italian artists.
Anyway I'll continue to write article, talk and bring the real Hip Hop from every nation!
